What the hourly rate is for
New websites are usually quoted at a fixed "project" price. The hourly rate covers the work that comes after launch.
And of course, "one off" work like fixing sites we did not build, fix email deliverability, DNS, hosting help etc.

Why do you charge in US dollars?
I have clients in many countries, so I use one billing currency. If you are a Canadian business and prefer to be invoiced in CAD, I can arrange that.

Why do projects start at US$4,000?
Because a website that works well takes real work: planning, building the proper infrastructure, design, building every page, making it fast and secure, testing, revising and launching it. The starting price covers a typical business site of 5 to 10 pages. Your final price depends on your content and features, which is why I quote each project individually.
Can't you just give me a price list?
Two businesses with 8 pages can need very different work: one has ready content and a simple layout, the other needs a custom feature or a lot of content moved over. A short conversation lets me give you one accurate number instead of a range that may not apply to you.
What can change the price?
The usual factors are the number of pages, how much content has to be moved over from your old site, an online store and the size of its catalogue, and custom features such as booking, memberships or integrations with other tools.
Do you charge by the hour for a new website?
No. New websites are a fixed project price, agreed before we start. The hourly rate above is for updates and extra work on existing sites.
Why not use a cheap template or a DIY builder instead?
A template can be a fine start for a new idea. For a business that has already grown, the cost usually shows up later: a site that looks like everyone else's, slow pages, hosting or email problems nobody owns, and no one to call. I build the foundation properly (hosting, DNS, email, speed) before a single page is designed, and I provide post launch support through the maintenance plan to keep your website performing.
What does it cost to keep the website running well after launch?
